Participants of the expedition carried out by the branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan “Antarctic-100” returned today from the Antarctic to Kazan.The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov welcomed them at the railway station.On behalf of the government of the Republic, he congratulated the scientific team on the world victory, expressed his gratitudefor close cooperationand wished further achievements. Several measures are implementedtoday in the Republic by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstantogether with Tatar branch of the Russian Geographical Society, in particular, cleaning of water facilities, the campaign “Clean coastlines” and many more; a project related to studying and inventory of sunkenfloating crafts is planned along their further surfacing.

The work on equipment of gas fuel stationswith the systems for collection and recuperation of fuel vaporsgoes on in Tatarstan. Experts of the Cis-Kama Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstanfamiliarized with operation of the closed system of discharge of oil products at the gas filling station of “Kuzkay” LLC located at the intersection of Mashinostroiteley str. and Avtozavodsky ave in Naberezhnye Chelny. The system implies collection of fuel vaporsfrom reservoirs andfuel-dispensing units into road-tankers for further removal of vapors and their recuperation at oil delivery terminals.All in all, 34 out of 72 gas fuel stations in Naberezhnye Chelny are equipped with such systems.

The solemn ceremony of awarding of winners of “Ecoleader” and “Man and Nature” contests was held today in Kazan at the shopping center “Korston”. The contests are aimed at attraction of public attention to the problems of ecological safety, encouragement of companies’ nature protection activity, as well as activation of work of Republican mass media, and improvement of professional skills of journalists involved in the coverage of ecological topics.Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov participated in the event. In his welcoming speech he acknowledged that the amount of peoplewho understand and become aware of the necessity to preserve ecology of Tatarstan grows year after year. The Prime Minister acknowledged campaigns and projects implementedin municipalities, in particular, “Green Record”. The briefing with participation of the Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chief State Inspector for Nature Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan Ramil Nizamov was held today at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. He informed that for the purposes of more operative detection of the sitesof unauthorized quarry development, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan used several e-services – reception of public appeals via e-mail and mobile communication devices ensuring feedback of the population. Starting from December18, 2014 citizens can send messages informing on the places of unauthorized quarry development at 267-68-67oreco.signal@tatar.ru. It is necessary to register make and plate number of equipment used at the quarry, precise work area with reference to specific orienting points, time and date of registration, and contact information.Anonymity is guaranteed.

Research-to-Practice Conference “Ecological safety in power economy: experience, problems, innovative solutions” is held these days in Moscow.The issues regarding current system of statutory regulation in the field of ecology, a complex of measures and a procedure for implementation of measures on nature protection carried out atelectrical energy industry companies in compliance with applicable requirements of supervisory authorities, as well as implementation of new innovation technologiesare discussed in the framework of the event.

The Interregional contest of ecological drawingsstarted in St. Petersburg for pupils of 5-11 forms of secondary schools, colleges, and vocational schools.
The contest is aimed at fostering of careful attitude to the environment and natural resources; enhancement of ecological culture and responsibility of the young generation with regard to the environment.

The international contest “School for ecology” started in Moscow. The contest is aimed at attraction of pupils’ attention to environmental problems that they face in their city on a daily basis.Participants suggest specific ideas and carry out campaigns intended for improvement of ecological situation and attraction of public attention to it. Pupils of forms 7 – 10 can send their pieces of work until February 15, 2015.
