Under the leadership of the Branch Head, Chairperson of the Research Committee of the Russian Underwater Federation Dmitry Shiller, Russian divers travelled near the South Shetland Islands.Diving in the Antarctic waters is referred to the increased level of complexity. This is related to a combination of factors, namely cold water (temperature below -2°C), strongest currents, icebergs and intense waves. It is thought to be relatively safe to dive no more than 20 meters down. For research purposes, venturing their lives, experts immerse down to 65 meters, but deeper down the work is carried out by using various remote devices.
