Within the framework of the Year of Ecology, the All-Russian children's drawings contest “Nature of the native land” was announced, which aims to awaken children's interest in environmental issues and attract the attention of people to the ecological condition of their native land. The contest is held among representatives of three age groups:

Receipt of application for participation in contest “Ecological places of Russia” has started. Anyone at the age from 7 to 99 years can participate.
The contest is held in two nominations: “Ecological places of Russia” and “Help is needed!”. To participate, it is necessary to place a photo on the contest website: http: //www.eco2017.rf before November 1, 2017.

Economic activities of organizations and maintenance of specially protected areas. The regional environmental conference dedicated to the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in the Republic of Tatarstan was held in Naberezhnye Chelny. Representatives of government bodies and nature protection agencies gathered in the Museum of Ecology and Conservation of Nature to discuss legal problems of rational nature management. The main topic of the conference was the issue of compliance of enterprises of the Prikamsky region with legislative requirements for environmental protection.

Fresh water consumption reduced and water disposal system improved. Sewage treatment facilities have been renovated at Naberezhnye Chelny cardboard and paper mill. The treatment method introduced here is based on the use of microorganisms. Bacteria grown in reservoirs eat organic matter, contained in sewage. Thus, harmful impurities and constituents are removed from plant water. Treated water is discharged or returned to production cycle.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan announces the start of the republican contest ECOleader. The most eco-friendly enterprises and educational institutions whose task is to teach how to care of nature, public figures who are not indifferent to environmental problems and, of course, journalists who during the year became real assistants to the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan, are invited to participate.

For the fourth time, the Goethe-Institute announced a contest among schoolchildren “School for Ecology: think, explore, act!”, aiming to draw the attention of schoolchildren to environmental problems. Teams of students from the 7th to 11th grades, as well as their German teachers and subject teachers (biology, ecology, geography, chemistry, physics) are invited to participate. Together with the teachers, schoolchildren should explore the ecological situation in their city (village), on their street, in their school and offer ideas aimed at improving the environmental situation and attracting the public attention to it. Environmental projects must be uploaded to the contest website before November 1, 2017.

Applications are accepted for participation in the international children's and youth contest “Our Oceans in a Changing Climate”. Participants can become children and young people aged 11 to 18 years.

Inventory of industrial discharges, establishment of coastlines, state registration of land plots of 50-meter coastline from reservoirs, demolition of 365 illegal buildings to ensure public access to water bodies, strengthening supervision over violation of water protection legislation. Farid Abdulganiev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, reported today on measures aimed at reducing the anthropogenic pressure on the main river of the country, the Volga. In the Moscow Kremlin, under the chairmanship of Sergei Ivanov, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental protection, ecology and transport, the chairman of the organizing committee for the Year of the Ecology in the Russian Federation, the fourth meeting of the organizing committee for the Year of the Environment in the Russian Federation was held.

Saplings of trees in exchange for waste paper. In Almetyevsk, an ecological action “Let’s save the Tree Together” was held. The event was organized by the specialists of the Department of Ecology and Nature Management of Almetyevsky Municipal District with the support of the South-East Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the company “Ecoservice”. Within a week, for every 3 kilograms of paper collected, the city residents received a seedling of cedar, fir, oak, maple, spruce or larch.
