Today within the framework of the sanitary and ecological two-month campaign, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Administrative and Technical Inspection of the Kazan Executive committee organized a press raid to the settlements of the capital. In the course of the raid an unauthorized solid household waste deposit was found in the territory between the Salmachi and Kuyuki settlements. Household and construction waste was thrown into the nearby ravine.

Today the VI Nevsky International Environmental Congress takes place in St. Petersburg. The subject “Environmental culture is the basis of environmental problems solution” is declared as a subject of the Congress. Discussion of biotechnological issues, development of environmental innovations, legal and law-enforcement aspects of environmental insurance as well as production and household waste utilization is planned. Rustem Kamalov, the First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, also took part in the work of the Congress.
Pupils of the senior classes of secondary comprehensive schools, primary schools and professional educational institutions of the city of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan at the age of 14-17 years, first- and second-year students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan are invited to take part in the contest.
The contest is initiated in order to arouse pupils’ interest in research work. For the first time it gives pupils an opportunity to elaborate an operating business model, having access to the R&D base of the “Himgrad” Technopolis and the FSBEI HPO “KSTU”.
Today the All-Russian session for Heads of industrial entities concerning dangerous industrial wastes utilization takes place in Nizhny Novgorod. Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, also takes part in the work of the session.
Today in the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan auctions on the right of use of the following subsoil sites of the local value took place: “Tatar-Shatrashansk Deposit” in the Drozhzhanoe municipal region of the Republic of Tatarstan for the purpose of investigation and production of marlstone, “Arakchino” in the Kirov district of the city of Kazan for the purpose of geological studying, investigation and production of sand extraction, and “Uryadino” in the Aktanysh municipal region of the Republic of Tatarstan for the purpose of geological studying, investigation and production of sand and sand-gravel materials.

On May 15, a republican campaign “Unified Ecological Lesson” devoted to the International Day of Ecological Education was held at educational establishments of all the cities and districts of Tatarstan.
AtVolga-KamaTerritorial Departmentunder the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the lessons were given for the 7-8th graders of SchoolNo. 5 of Chistopol, at“Yulduzsky Secondary School” of Chistopol Municipal District, and at“Mokrokurnalinsky Secondary School” of Alekseevskoe Municipal District. Discussions were held with regard to ecology and environment. At the end of the lesson, a movie “Wildlife places” was shown.

Today it is the All-Russian Day of Tree Planting. The campaign was held at all the cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan planted pines on the territory adjacent to Goluboe Lake near Kadyshevo village. Today, fellow workers of the Ministry planted more than 100 young plants. Annual campaign is held in order to foster careful attitude to forest.

The spontaneous unauthorized waste dump in the Mirny settlement was liquidated today by efforts of the Administration of Cis-Volga and Vakhitovo districts of the city of Kazan. Rubbish heaps were found on the road near the bifurcation: the Mirny settlement – the Davlikeevo settlement - the Birchwood. The territory was fenced; however, it did not keep violators from breaking the law. Columns were dug up, and unauthorized waste dumping went growing.

On May 15, inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a press raid to horticultural societies of the Soviet district. Inspectors of the Ministry recorded a number of violations related to the violation of environmental legislation as well as improvements regulations. The fine for containers and concreted platforms absence amounting to 15 thousand rubles will be imposed on the Chairman of the “Vishenka” horticultural society.

Pete Wood, the Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystems Management of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Kalev Sepp, a professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, visited the Kazan Federal University. Guests were accompanied by the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Sidorov. The meeting with the staff of the University and a visit to the zoological museum was organized for guests. Then the lecture on the “Ecosystems Development. World Experience” took place. Pete Wood, the Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystems Management of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Kalev Sepp, a professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, made their reports to the tutors and students of the university.
