4 August 2021, Wednesday

More than 60 thousand sterlet fry were released into the Kuibyshev reservoir. The stocking was carried out in the Zelenodolsk district under the supervision of a commission consisting of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Middle Volga Territorial Administration of Rosrybolovstvo and specialists from production organizations working in the water areas.

According to Alexey Chinarev, Head of the Department of Mineral Resources and Water Resources of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, the release of fry is carried out annually to restore the fish population in water bodies. At the moment, since the beginning of 2021, damage to the bioresources of the Republic of Tatarstan has been compensated for a total of more than 11 million rubles in the amount of more than 530 thousand pieces of sterlet and more than 15 thousand pieces of carp.

The released fry were grown in the fish-breeding complex of the company "Letea" in the Samara region. It should be noted that the valuable commercial fish is a pronounced river inhabitant, gravitating to clean water with an abundance of oxygen.
