Spirea, birch bark and white clover now grow on the site of the former landfill. Work on "Ecology" national project has been completed in Menzelinsk
Work on the reclamation of a landfill in Menzelinsk has been completed on 6 hectares. The event was implemented within the framework of the federal project "Clean Country" of the national project "Ecology".
Let us recall that work on the facility was started in November 2020 and took place in two stages. The technical stage included moving the landfill masses to the designated area, compacting them and filling them with soil on the pre-covered bottom of the site with a geomembrane. At the final stage, the embankment was covered and the insulating outer and fertile soil layer was laid. To date, the site of the former landfill has been sown with perennial grass white clover, as well as woody and shrubby plants – European birch bark and spirea. The total amount of funding for the work amounted to 170.6 million rubles, of which 58% were from the federal budget.
