More than 38 million rubles will be spent on cleaning the pond in the village of Derzhavino in the Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. Work on the site has been started and is being carried out within the framework of the federal project "Conservation of unique water bodies" of the "Ecology" national project.
The need for cleaning has arisen due to the fact that the pond has become heavily silted, the sedimentation rate exceeds that typical for similar lake and pond systems in the region by 3.5 times.
To date, the water body is excavated by a hydro-mechanized method with the device of special maps for storing soil. In total, it is planned to clear 34 hectares of the mirror pond area, along the coastal strip, the length of the clearing will be 7.2 km, the work will last until 2022.
As a result of these measures, the water body's capacity will increase and the living conditions of almost 500 people will improve.
"The global task of the republic is to deal not only with the improvement of the Volga, but also with all small rivers. Today, the area of all water bodies in Tatarstan is 6.4% of its total territory, " said Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies", work has also begun in the Laishevsky district to clear the right tributary of the Mesha River near the village of Nikolskoye.
