Ecologists got acquainted with modern technologies in field of cleaning harmful emissions at Bavly section of PJSC Tatneft

Today, specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan got acquainted with the operation of the industrial installation at the Bavly desulfurization section of the PJSC Tatneft department Tatneftegazopererabotka. The complex automated line was launched here in 2011. The process of direct catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulphide, used in the operation of the device, allows separation of sulphur and does not require additional treatment of waste gases. Since the start-up of the plant, more than 6.5 million m3 of acid gas has been processed at the enterprise, 3,500 tons of hydrogen sulphide has been received, and 7,000 tons of sulphur dioxide and sulphuric acid have been prevented from released into the atmosphere. “Cleaning of associated gas from sulphur is one of the directions of useful utilization of associated petroleum gas. Installations used at this enterprise allow for efficient removal of sulphur from associated gas and further direction it to production,” said Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Fayaz Shakirov, Chief State Inspector of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection.
