Topical issues related to the need to implement the principles of a circular economy, improve energy efficiency and environmental safety in waste management, were discussed today during the XV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference named after A.I. Shchepovskikh “Industrial Ecology and Safety” at the section “Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Safety in Waste Management”.

The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Federal Environmental Operator” and “Korib Metall” OOO will create conditions in the Republic of Tatarstan for handling waste from accumulator batteries of I and II hazard classes. The corresponding Agreement was concluded today within the framework of the section “Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Safety in Waste Management” of the XV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Industrial Ecology and Safety” named after A.I. Shchepovskikh.

In accordance with the roadmap for the implementation of a pilot project in the Republic of Tatarstan the necessary production facilities have been created for handling mercury-containing waste of hazard classes I and II on the basis of the Kazan branch of the “Privolzhsky Territorial District” branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Federal Environmental Operator”.

A 2-hectare landfill was discovered along Khezmet secondary street in the Sovetskiy district of Kazan. A message from citizens came to the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, and environmentalists together with specialists from the Rosreestr Department for the Republic of Tatarstan left for the site to examine and establish the exact coordinates. According to a revealed fact, inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology are conducting an administrative investigation.

Thanks to the vigilance of citizens, inspectors from the South-Eastern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan stopped illegal actions in the field of waste management. Residents photographed the KamAZ dumping construction waste near the Taysuganovo village of Almetyevskiy district. The area of ​​illegal storage amounted to 70 square meters. An administrative investigation is underway under part 1 of article 8.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

The launch of a pilot project in Tatarstan on management of mercury-containing waste of hazard classes I and II was discussed today at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The decisions made during the meeting are documented and a roadmap for implementation of the pilot project is prepared.
