About the Ministry

Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan realizes a state policy in the sphere of environment protection

The main goals of the Ministry are:

- Ensuring the right of citizens to a favorable environment;
- To ensure environmental safety;
- Preventing the negative impact of economic and other activities on the environment;
- The formation and implementation of environmental programs and projects.

The Ministry shall perform the following functions:

- Management in the sphere of environmental protection, including:
- Management in the sphere of air;
- Ensuring radiation safety in the prescribed manner;
- Control the protection of the environment, including:
- Regional control and supervision over the use and protection of water objects, except for the water objects related to the federal government control and supervision,
- Control over air,
- Supervision of waste management
- Control in the prescribed manner of the radiation situation in the Republic of Tatarstan;
State control of the geological study, rational use and protection of mineral resources;
- Control in the prescribed manner for negative environmental impact on sites of economic and other activities, except for facilities related to the federal state environmental control.
