Last Saturday, every resident of the Republic of Tatarstan was able to join the largest environmental campaign "Earth Hour".

This Saturday, at 20:30, let's all turn off the lights together, at least for an hour, to save our planet.  The Earth Hour campaign, created by the World Wildlife Fund, has been uniting all those who are not indifferent to environmental problems for many years. The main goal is to draw attention to the careful and responsible attitude to nature and the energy resources of the planet.

Last Saturday, residents of all countries of the world joined the environmental campaign “Earth Hour”. Tatarstan citizens also took an active part in reducing energy consumption. By the joint efforts of residents of the republic, 50 megawatts of electricity were saved.

The annual environmental campaign Earth Hour 2020 will take place on March 28. The campaign, organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), is designed to draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to the nature and resources of the planet. The event will begin at 8:30 p.m. local time.

As reported on the official website of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the main topic of this year's campaign will be environmental activism. The campaign will be held under the slogan “Everyone can!” and will focus on five areas of environmental activism.
