30 August 2017, Wednesday

New skills, creative games and outdoor activities: Kazan Gorky Park held the children's ecological fair today attended by more than 1000 people. The knowledge fest was arranged for children by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan in partnership with the local branch of the 'Russian Student Squads' and 'Budet Chisto' youth ecological movement. A welcoming speech was addressed to the participants by the deputy minister Radik Gaynetdinov. He congratulated the guests on the occasion of the Republic Day and noted that this meeting aims to add popularity to the symbol of Tatarstan, the snowy panther, hence all interactive platforms were dedicated to this Red Book animal. Facts about the panther and other rare species were brought up during the mind games. A chance to show their knowledge of Tatarstan nature was given to the participants in the ecological quiz. The ECO fest was a place for children to learn waste sorting. Toddlers tried themselves in making paper animals, got face paintings, visited petting zoo and watched the white panther movie. Drawing contest attracted much attention featuring categories 'Draw a snowy panther, the symbol of Tatarstan', 'Homeland Nature', 'Sweet Home Nature', 'My favorite animal', 'Spirit of the Nature'. As Dilara Satikova, the leader of the 'Budet Chisto' movement marked, the little artists fields at all ECO fests in Alabuga, Nijnekamsk, and Naberejniye Chelni proved to be popular. Children's drawing style is a bright and unique one which makes a challenge to the jury. After all ECO fests are over, best drawings will be chosen at the end of the year as well as essays in several categories: 'Letter to the Nature', 'My favorite place', 'Tatar Nature', said Dilara Satikova.

The children's eco fest is held in the framework of the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces of Tatarstan. The knowledge fair will be held on September 2 in Almet city.
