Two-meter metal fence was demolished today in the village of Salmachi in Kazan. The structure along the street of Veniamin Grigoriev restricted free access of citizens to the River Noxa. Infringement of the nature protection legislation was revealed by the inspectors of the Central territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan during the routine inspection. They compiled an administrative report under Art. 8.12.1. Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (Non-compliance with the provision of free access of citizens to the public water body and its coastal strip) and issued an order to eliminate the offense within the specified time limit. “In the village of Salmachi, four cases of unauthorized seizure of the coastal strip of the Noxa River were revealed. One structure has been dismantled. According to the demands of ecologists, in the near future, other infringers will provide free access of citizens to the Noxa River,” said Vyacheslav Dolgov, inspector of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan. According to him, this year on the territory of Kazan ecologists recorded 36 cases of unauthorized seizure of the coastal strip of water bodies. This is significantly less than last year. Enhanced control within the Year of Water Protection Zones showed its positive results, environmentalists noted.
