“Green” standards are a priority. Specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan for many years have been raising awareness of organizations engaged in the construction and design of real estate for the purpose of applying “green” standards. Today, 10 facilities use energy-saving and resource-saving technologies, which reduce the negative impact on the environment. Bright examples in Tatarstan are the hi-tech city Innopolis, the residential complex Sovremennik, the economy apartment house Red Apple, the energy-saving house in the territory of Technopolis “Chemgrad”, the scientific and technical center of JSC Tatneftekhiminvest Holding, the Suvar Plaza complex , GorkiPark, etc.
Large-scale work was carried out to certify the football stadium “Kazan Arena” to bring into the compliance with the standards of “green” (environmentally sustainable) construction under the voluntary certification system “RUSO. Football stadiums.” The main object of the Summer Universiade-2013 was involved in all major sports events of the Republic of Tatarstan from its first days. As part of the certification, technical and operational documentation, energy and social efficiency of the stadium, availability of the facilities for the disabled people, the availability of separate waste collection, water and energy saving factors, and much more were analyzed. The award of the certificate confirms that the Kazan Arena stadium applied approaches of energy saving, resource-saving, waste management, as well as in the field of informing the public on these issues, consistent with the international principles of sustainable development.
