20 July 2017, Thursday

The water quality and the state of the coastal strip of the Kazanka River were examined by the inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The environmentalists paid special attention to the observance of environmental requirements in the water protection zone, since during the summer period there are frequent cases of violations of art. 8.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation: Violation of the special regime for the implementation of economic and other activities on the coastal protective strip of a water body, water protection zone of a water body or the regime for carrying out economic and other activities in the zone of sanitary protection of sources of drinking and domestic water supply. According to Ayat Shigapov, the deputy head of the CTA, this year, as part of patrolling on the Kazanka river bank, about 105 violations of this article were reported, and in the republic 500 environmental violations were recorded.
In addition, during the environmental inspection, CSIAC experts selected samples of natural water to determine the content of toxic and polluting substances. Monitoring of water quality in the river Kazanka by the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan is conducted on a regular basis. To date, there are no excess pollutants in Kazanka, the quality of the natural water corresponds to the established standards. “The prevention of contaminated wastewater entering the pond is one of the tasks of the Ministry, – Farid Abdulganiev, the Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan, said, – since it is the anthropogenic impacts on water bodies that cause the propagation of blue-green algae that become toxic when decaying, which can lead to the death of fish. Now experts of the Ministry of Ecology are actively working on combating such algae. For this purpose, special equipment was purchased to equip the reservoir with oxygen – aerator and ultrasound, which are already installed on one of the Kazan reservoirs.”
