23 June 2017, Friday

Kazan people collected more than 2 tons of waste paper within the framework of the campaign “Give life to paper”. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of the environmental protection event. The importance of this campaign in public environmental education was noted by Elena Gilmizyanova, the leading specialist of the department of environmental education and interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. She stressed that every year the environmental campaign is becoming more popular among the citizens of Kazan. For three years the number of participants and the amount of collected waste paper was only increasing. It is encouraging that the preservation of natural resources does not leave residents of the republic indifferent.

As the organizers of the event noted, this year waste paper collection is also held for charitable purposes. The participants will send the funds collected from the waste paper to the Zakyat Foundation for treatment of seriously ill children.
