Today, on the Kazan CHPP-3 was launched the most powerful gas turbine plant in Russia. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the construction of a new unit is a unique project that will significantly improve the economic parameters and become more competitive in the electricity market. Currently this is the only in Russia plant with such parameters and capacity. The new GTP unit at Kazan CHPP-3, at the branch of OJSC “TGC-16”, was constructed within the framework of the full modernization of the plant. The gas-turbine plant was built on the basis of the largest and most efficient gas turbine in the world with a capacity of 405.6 MW.
The economical efficiency and environmental friendliness of the project was also appreciated by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev. He noted that the renovated CHPP will allow maintaining a favorable ecological situation in the region. The use of the newest technology at CHPP-3 will reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmospheric air. In addition, the introduction of a modern system will reduce the consumption of electricity and heat, which will allow the thermal power plant to produce less energy. This will save the region's natural resources. Such an approach to the problem of interaction between energy saving and ecology will help make the environment cleaner and more comfortable.
