Congratulation of the President of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov with Environmentalist Day and World Environment Day

Dear friends!

 I congratulate you on the occasion of Environmentalist Day and World Environment Day. Environmentalist day is not only a professional holiday for specialists engaged in environmental protection. Today I want to congratulate also representatives of scientific, public, volunteer organizations and just all not indifferent people. All those who are on duty and on vocation, civic duty and own initiative contribute to the preservation of natural wealth.

Today, being among the most important the problems of ecology determine the level of prosperity of the entire world civilization. To preserve our nature, clean air and minerals for future generations is our common and priority task.

Tatarstan as a whole is among the ecologically safe regions. Many of our programs and projects are pilot in Russia and are implemented on a systematic basis. The credo of the Republic is to maintain a balance between preserving the environment and developing the economy. Key directions in the field of environmental safety are defined by the sectoral Strategy for Environmental Safety and Development of the Natural Resource Complex of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2016-2021 and for the future until 2030. Its goal is to increase the level of environmental safety of citizens, conservation and rational use of natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

And it was not by chance that 2013 passed in the republic as the Year of Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection, 2015 was the Year of Parks and Gardens, the next 2016 was the Year of Water Protection Zones, and 2017 was declared the Year of Ecology by the President of Russia V.V.Putin, and here in Tatarstan this year became also the Year of Public Spaces.

Thanks to the well-coordinated work of specialists of environmental organizations, environmental and resource services, certain successes in the environmental sphere and nature management are achieved in the republic every year.

I would also like to note the work of our largest enterprises, which make considerable efforts to ensure the environmental safety of their productions. First of all, this is PJSC Tatneft named after V.D. Shashin and the group of companies “TAIF”.

Tatarstan consistently implements “green standards” in construction, which reduce the overall impact on the environment and human health through the reasonable use of resources.

Much work is carried out by municipalities on cleaning and improvement of territories of municipalities. One of the vivid examples of this work was the action “Clean Coast”, as a result of which more than 800 water bodies of Tatarstan were cleaned. More than 50,000 Tatarstanians came to the cleaning of coastal areas.

It is nice to see that every year more and more residents of Tatarstan come out to protect the environment. The youth environmental movement “Budetchisto” deserves special respect, where more than 5 thousand students and those who are not indifferent to the environmental problems of young people have become participants.

Let me thank everyone who guards over nature, for creative work and professionalism, for loyalty to the duty. I wish you good health, happiness, prosperity, success in work, energy and optimism! I am confident that by joint efforts we will be able to save and increase the wealth and beauty of our native land.
