“Research activities play a special role in eco-education of children”. Schoolchildrenpresented their projects in scientific disciplinesin NaberezhnyeChelny, Tatarstan

Within the framework of the Year of Ecology in Autograd, the VIII republican scientific and practical conference of schoolchildrenof grades 5-8 “Lomonosov Readings” was held. The research site for schoolchildren of Tatarstan was the City Children’s Ecological and Biological Center of NaberezhnyeChelny. More than 250 children showed interest in research and submitted their projects to the contest. At the opening of the conference, the specialists of the Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan delivered a welcoming speech. They noted that research activities play a special role in the eco-education of schoolchildren: it increases their interest in the environment, develops a creative approach to natural science, helps develop personal qualities. Schoolchildren demonstrated their research works in 11 sections: ecology, biology and health protection, psychology and pedagogy, social science, mathematics, computer science, physics and technical creativity, chemistry, history and local history, Russian philology, Tatar philology and local lore, Romano-German philology. Particular attention was paid to the design pieces presented at the section “Ecology” and “Biology and Health”. Studies were devoted to the role of conifers in the cityenvironment, assessment of the ecological state of spring water, effect of carbonated beverages on the human body. School environmental works of students did not remain unnoticed by the inspectors of the Kama TA. According to environmentalists, they featured novelty, creativity and topicality and were highly appreciated.
