“Unauthorized sand extraction is conducted in the coastal strip of the Sviyaga River. The work is carried out by five vehicles”. This message was received by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan from the inhabitants of Berlyash village. To investigate the environmental violation, inspectors of the Volga Territorial Administration visited the Apastov District. The information in the message from the local residents was confirmed. On the coastal area of the Sviyaga River there was discovered an illegal quarry with an area of 473 square meters and a depth of 140 cm. On this factfour protocols were compiled against the individual entrepreneur, according to art. 8.6. Part 1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “Unauthorized removal or transfer of the fertile soil layer”, art. 7.3. Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Use of subsoil without a license for the use of subsoil”, art. 8.42 part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Use of the coastal protective strip of a water body, water protection zone of a water body with violation of restrictions on economic and other activities”, art. 8.13 part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Violation of the water protection regime at watersheds of water bodies, which may result in contamination of these objects or other harmful effects”. Environmentalists have sent the materials to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Apastov district of RT to initiate a criminal case.
