Leading ecologists of Russia and foreign countries to gather in Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) at II Congress of Environmentalists

The Second Congress of Environmentalistsof the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)will be held on April 4-7, 2017 in Yakutsk within the framework of the Year of Ecology of Russia. The delegates and guests of the congress will be the heads of legislative and executive authorities of the federal, regional and municipal levels of the Russian Federation, representatives of republican environmental organizations, scientists and environmentalists, students. The program of the II Congress of Ecologists is scheduled for four days. The plenary session will be held on April 5 in the North-Eastern Federal University “Sergelyakhsky Lights”named after M.K. Ammosov. According to the organizers, the congress will mainly take place in the format of discussions. The main areas of the discussion areas are handling of production and consumption wastes, introduction of the best available technologies and renewable energy sources by energy companies, development of a system of specially protected natural areas, monitoring of the environmentstate, eco-tourism, water resources of RS (Y), etc. In addition, environmental dictation, exhibitions, solemn public meeting and other events will be organized during the congress.

Recall, the I Congress of Environmentalists was held in 1995 on the initiative of the first President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mikhail Nikolaev. And now, 22 years later, in the Year of Ecology and Specially Protected Natural Territories, leading environmentalists of Russia and other countries will gather in the capital of the republic to discuss topical issues of environmental protection and ensuring environmental safety.
