“Anyone who really loves his country can become a participant of RGS”. Meeting in NaberezhnyeChelny with members of Russian Geographical Society

Students of the Universities of Autograd got acquainted with the activities of the Russian Geographical Society. An open meeting with participants of the all-Russian organization for the city’s youth was organized by the staff of the Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Representatives of the youth club RGS ofNaberezhnyeChelny spoke about the expeditions, travel, and research. They noted that the geographical organization collects and disseminates reliable geographical information. It plays an important role in the discovery and study of new lands, the development of meteorology and climatology. Expeditions of the Russian Geographical Society played a great role in the development of Siberia, the Far East, and the World Ocean.

The activities of the RGS specialists seemed so interesting and fascinatingto the students of NaberezhnyeChelny, that they became interested in joining the Society. “To become a member of the RGS Youth Club, it is not necessary to be an ecologist, an ethnographer, or a geographer. To do this, we must truly love our country, strive to learn something new about Russia and help preserve its natural resources”, – the representatives of the Society said.
