Kazan schoolchildren presented results of their scientific research. In the palace of creativity ofAlish hosted the city conference “Earth and water”

Resultsof research work of schoolchildren were summarized in the City Palace of Children’s Art named afterA.Alish. This year, participants of the city conference “Earth and water” became 35 students of Kazan schools. Helena Gilmizyanova, a specialist of the department of environmental education and interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, addressed the schoolchildren and teachers with a salutatory word. “Our Motherland – the Republic of Tatarstan – is rich in natural resources. We are surrounded by great rivers, green forests, endless meadows. But some unique objects of nature are subject to extinction. It is the emphasis on this problem that is being made in your studies. You thereby show your indifference to natural beauty and offer solutions. So we can safelyentrust the environment to such a generation. Let us preserve the natural beauty of our natural objects for many centuries”, the expert of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan greeted.

The scientific and practical conference was held in the format of presentations. The participants of the environmental conference presented their work in 4 sections:

- “Biota”,

- “General Ecology”

- “Urban ecology”,

- “Absentia Section”.

The students studies such objects as plants and animalsof the Red Book, vegetables, domestic animals, protected forests, surface layers of land, ecosystem of suburban areas, climatic conditions. Scientific work of young ecologists was conducted throughout the year. Teachers provided active support and aid in the research. “With the students we conducted scientific work on the study of plants. Since the autumn of last year, we were determiningthe effect of various substances on the growth of seed potato. Laboratory studies were carried out in a greenhouse. The tools were electronic scales, improvised tools, and garden instruments,” – said the teacher of the City Children’s Ecological and Biological Center of Kazan EvgeniaAneva.

The scientific and practical conference on the theme of ecology aroused great interest among schoolchildren. “At the event, students showed profound knowledge in the world around them. Their eyes sparkled with interest in this topic. Participation in such events positively affects the ecological education of children,” – the organizers of the conference noted.
