A round table “Environmental certification as a mechanism for increasing energy efficiency and energy saving.Experience and Prospects” was held today in the exhibition centre“Kazan Fair” within the framework of the XVII International Symposium “Energy Resource Efficiency and Energy Saving”. The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil Use of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The moderator of the roundtable RustemKamalov,first deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstanwelcomed the participants with a speech. He noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the first regions of the Russian Federation which actively deals with energy and resource conservation issues on a systemic and program basis. The oil-producing, petrochemical and chemical industries, engineering, and the development of transport infrastructure require the rational use of energy resources. Energy saving technologies and innovative methods for environmentally responsible energy use are actively applied in largest companies and enterprises of the region.
The event was participated by the experts of the leading industrial enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan (Khimgrad, RusskiyVeter, YIT-Kazan, Engineering CenterEnergoprogress, Tatneft). They discussed the issues of environmental certification of facilities for hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup, introduction of “green technologies" in industrial enterprises in the field of housing and communal services, legal basis for environmental certification, etc. During the event reports were heard on the following topics:
- Activities of YIT-Kazan LLC to develop options for the use of alternative energy sources,
- Energy-saving technology for waste and sewage sludgeutilization,
- Wind power development system in the Republic of Tatarstan,
- Development and implementation of new technologies for “green” construction, etc.
