Tatarstan comes second in Russia in energy efficiency

Tatarstan took the second place (after the Khanty-Mansiysk District) in the energy efficiency rating among the regions of the Russian Federation. These results were announced today by the Director of the Center for Energy Saving Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan YevgenyMartynov at a joint meeting of the Committee for Economy, Investment and Entrepreneurship of the RT State Council and the Commission for Control over the Implementation of the State Program for the Provision of Affordable and Comfortable Housing and Public Utilities.

According to him, in 2015 Tatarstan took the 4th place in terms of budget investments aimed at increasing energy efficiency. As a result of the introduction of resource-saving technologies at Tatarstan enterprises, the energy intensity of the gross regional product is reduced annually: last year the indicator fell by 1.5 percent.

“Effective use of energy today is actively used in the buildingsconstruction,” – commented the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan FaridAbdulganiev. – Bright examples in our country are the hi-tech city of Innopolis, the residential complex Sovremennik, the apartment house of the economy class “Red Apple”, the energy-saving house on the territory of Technopolis“Khimgrad”, the scientific and technical center of JSCTatneftekhiminvest Holding, Complex “Suvar Plaza”, “Gorki Park”, and others. These facilities will be included in the rating of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly projects in Russia”. In addition, there is an active collaboration with the universities of Tatarstan, the Minister noted. On the basis of the Energy university the Center for Competence and Technology in Energy Saving successfully operates, which, in addition to developing and implementing energy saving projects, promotes energy and resource-saving technologies. The Kazan State Architectural and Construction University has created a Competence Center to provide scientific and methodological support for the development of “green” standards in construction and coordination of works on the adaptation of international systems in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.
