6 March 2017, Monday

“The fish need water, the bird needs air, the beast need forest, steppe, mountains. And a man needs a homeland. And to protect nature means to protect the homeland”, – with these Prishvin’s words began the lesson of ecology in Gymnasium No. 1 in Chistopol. Open lesson for children was conducted by employees of the Volga-Kama territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The lesson was attended by: Executive Secretary of the Association of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Baryshev, First Deputy Head of the Chistopol Municipal District RustemKhamatov, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the district Irina Novikova.

Students together with guests went on a trip to specially protected areas of Tatarstan. “Reserves and national parks are unique natural objects. Only in these places you can meet rare species of animals and plants. Reserves are created to preserve the organisms which are on the verge of disappearance”, – ecologists told. The ecological lesson was accompanied by a video about the protected territories of the republic. The students not only expanded their knowledge on reserves, but also demonstrated knowledge in the field of ecology. They told what effect each person and environment have on each other, and what should be done to preserve nature. “To date, environmental awareness, respect for nature became a guarantee of human survival on our planet. We are masters of our nature, and it is a cellar of the sun with all her treasures. And we are obliged to preserve nature and show it the future generation. After all, destroying one link, we break the whole chain. So let’s preserve our nature, for which our ancestors fought, and which we can see now!” – noted the students of the gymnasium.
