Today the Minister of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov held an eco-lesson for schoolchildren in the Verkhneuslon district. The event was timed to the opening of the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in Tatarstan. Speaking about specific measures to protect the environment, the Minister spoke about the mobile application “School Eco Patrol”. This system enables to place notifications about places of unauthorized waste disposal and facts of discharge of industrial and domestic sewage onto the terrain. In 2015, through this system, 1283 notifications were received, and 8483 in 2016. All schoolchildren who are not indifferent to environmental issues can participate in this contest, thereby helping to identify violations of environmental legislation and receive awards. Roman Shaikhutdinov sees another means of combating violations of environmental legislation using the “People’s Inspector” system. With this application users can now notify in two new categories: illegal mining and unauthorized wastedischarge. The Minister stressed that today every citizen has the opportunity to take care of the environment. According to him the Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the Republic and the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan will continue to work together on the use of new technologies and ensure a rapid response of both the public and supervisory authorities to the facts of harming the environment.
Recall, on March 1, eco-lessons devoted to the Year of Ecology and Public Spacesin Tatarstanwere launched. In the coming days they will be held in all Tatarstan schools and gymnasiums. The events are held with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and upbringing of the younger generation, raising the level of ecological knowledge, fostering a careful attitude of children to the nature of native land, forming an ecological outlook, supporting the development of a system of continuous environmental education in the Republic of Tatarstan.
