Examinationof water, air, and soil, and identification of environmental problems in area. Ecologists of Volga TA held a conference “Nature and Us”under the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces.

Young researchers of Drozhzhanov district took part in the 1st regional scientific and practical conference “Nature and Us”, organized by specialists of Volga territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was held within the framework of the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces. The organizers of the conference addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. “Native nature is a great teacher, a powerful source from which the child draws a lot of knowledge and impressions. Interest in surrounding objects of inanimate and especially living nature appears in early age, therefore it is very important to support the sincere interest of teenagers to the world around them and to cultivate a careful attitude to nature in school years,” – ecologists noted.

The students presented their reports and presentations in four sections:

1. Ecology of animals.

2. Ecology of human and human health.

3. Ecology of environment and native land.

4. Posters contest “We live on the planet Earth”.

The scientific and practical activities of the students included: studying the animal behaviour; research of the influence of various factors on human health; analysis of purity ofair, water and watercourses of the region by physical and chemical methods; studying contaminated air and its harm to human; study of soil properties. Based on the results, the schoolchildren identified the environmental problems of the district, which they discussed together with the inspectors of the Volga TA at a round table.
