The Year for Ecology and Public Spaces in the Republic of Tatarstan started todaywith a lesson about nature. In 3 gymnasiums of Kazan, not children’s issues were discussed. The problem of conservation and rational useof urban water bodies, the consequences of the development of cyanotoxins, IT-technologies in eco-tourism, the construction of a city that meets all “green” standards. A very special attentionis paid to the questions of ecology in the educational institution, which was the only ecological lyceum in the republic a few years ago. That is why today the educational institution was visited by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan RustamMinnikhanov. Here the kids are involved in a careful attitude to nature from the primary classes, when the lessons are held in a playful form. Even in drawing eco-pencils are used, which after use can be planted in the ground to grow flowers. Older kids presented to RustamMinnikhanova model of an eco-friendly city with the use of various energy and resource-saving technologies. Habitual vehicles are replaced by electric vehicles and bicycles.
All the students are participants of the contest “School Eco Patrol”. Today, eight-grader from the 27th gymnasium Dina Galieva came to share her successes. In the latest contest, she won the nomination “Most Active Apprentice”. The competition is growing every year. Over the past year in the Ministry of Ecology with the help of the application received 8.5 thousand reports on violations of environmental legislation, which was positively noted by the President of the Republic. “It is necessary that there were not 8.500thousand, but 100thousandmessages”, he noted, thus posing the task to the students. The Head ofRosPrirodNadzorArtemSidorov promised Grand Prix to the most ardent fighters for the purity, in two categories: “Best School” and “Best Form”.
DaniyalZagidullin, student of 11A form, surprised with the complexity and significance of his projects. He has developed a mobile app which will become a personal guide in Kazan for tourists and residents of the republic. Ecologically clean places are marked with a special icon. President RustamMinnikhanov suggested not to be limitedto Kazan only. The year of parks and public gardens, the Year of water protection zones became very significant for the republic – many territories for active recreation appeared, and it will be proper if in the Year of Ecology and public spaces they will be combined in a single application. “Every year this application should be added with new sights,” –RustamMinnikhanov set the task, and called on the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources FaridAbdulganiev and Minister of Informatization and Communication of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov to assistthe student. ArtemSidorov, in turn, recommended setting rules of behavior and restrictions to be applied in protected natural areas.
The next project is about the conservation and restoration of Lake Lebyazhye. It implies a combination of hydraulic engineering works that will help prevent the drying of the lake, with landscaping, as chaotic public rest causes more damage than organized and structured recreation. All conclusions have been made based on the studies of the ecological state of the lake. Special attention is paid to the functional zone “ecological trail”. It will allow schoolchildren to study the environment outside the classroom and get acquainted with the typical components of natural ecosystems. Another important project is devoted to the negative effect of cyanotoxins on a water body, its flora and fauna. Their presence was determined by the immunoenzymometricanalysis on the basis of the Institute of Ecology and Nature Management of the KFU together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Nothing will be more important than ecology,” –RustamMinnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, summed up. – We are a very big republic, an industrial one, we have large petrochemical, oil refining complexes. Our newest projectare TANECO, on TAIF NK, “Ammonium”– they have been developed and built to the most modern requirements”. The president ordered young people not to lose their way.
“2017 was declared the Year of Ecology in Russia and within the framework of this year we planned and will conduct the All-Russian ecological lesson. I am very pleased that the Republic of Tatarstan gives a start to these lessons, sets the pace and format. The depth of elaboration of the projects and the specificity of knowledge pleasantly surprised and amazed”, – the Head of RosPrirodNadzorArtemSidorov shared his impressions. He thanked President RustamMinnikhanov for a consistent and systematic approach to environmental security issues. Mayor of Kazan IlsurMetshin expressed gratitude to teachers and mentors of who manage to convey valuable eco-knowledge to their students.
The meeting ended with pleasant gifts. The President handed over to young ecologists mobile laboratories for further research.
As the Minister of Ecology FaridAbdulganiyev noted, environmental lessons are not one-off actions. On March 2, such events will be held in all schools of the republic and will be continued throughout the year.
