“Let’s make our city clean and green!” School students of NaberezhnyeChelnyfor natureprotection.

Results of eco-posters contest dedicated to the Year of Ecology were announced in the gymnasium No.77 of NaberezhnyeChelny. Theparticipants of the event were greeted by specialist of Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Muzafarov. He thanked the students for their participation and interest in the contest and noted the role of such activities in the environmental education of the younger generation. “School environmental activities allow students to approve themself as environmentalists. Performing simple things for nature protection, the student understands that it benefits to the environment. This means that all the works done were not in vain,” – said the specialist. The contest, held for schoolchildren of 1-5 forms, was organized by the school “Ecoclub”. During several monthskids made motivating posters for environmentprotection. The best works were made by Karina Toktaeva (with the slogan “Stop the catastrophe – save the nature!”) and AnzarMingazov (with a poster “Let’s make our city clean and green!”).

Environmental activities at school No.77 are held regularly. Members of “Ecoclub” pay a particular attention to the natureprotection. The activists annually organise clean-ups in the waterside areas of the city, clean the forest of debris, made nesting boxes and feeders for birds. Eco-movement in the school becomes popular, and not only students wish to join the club, buttheir parents too.
