“Ecological Marathon”for Arskpre-schoolers conducted by employees of Ministry of Ecology

Employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan are active in the environmental education of the younger generation. Theyhold environmental lessons, games, hands-on activitiesin pre-school and school establishments. Another eco-educational activity took place in the kindergarten No. 10 “SPRING” of Arsk. The educational event for kids was held by specialist of the Northern Territorial Administration Ministry of EcologyFirdausLatyshand deputy chief editor of “Small Earth”, a member of the Public Council of the Ministry Lyudmila Kartashova. Duringthe environmental class the kids demonstrated their knowledge in the field of environmental protection. They guessed the animals and plantsnames on drawings, answered quiz questions and solved riddles about natural phenomena, read poems. “For their age kids have shown a high level of knowledge about nature. They can easily tell the animals typical for our area, the harm of contaminated, and how to restore the purity of nature”, – said FirdausLatysh.

In kindergarten No.10 “SPRING” the environmental events are held regularly. “Contests, games, fairy tales on the theme of environmental protection raise a strong interest in children. They areparticularly active on practical activities, like nature walks, making bird feeders, participating in the clean-ups. Environmental education should start in preschool age, so for us it is very important to be able to convey to children of this age the basics of environmental knowledge,” – said the preschool tutor VenersIskandarovs.
