Tatarstan water bodies protection discussed today at press conference in news agency “Tatar-Inform”.

About the measures for the water resources protection in the republic said FayazShakirov,Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources,Chief state inspector on the environmental protection in Tatarstan during a press conference in the news agency “Tatar-Inform” today.The work of CSIAC (Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control) of the Ministry of Ecology of RT has been improved, and the number of samplingincreased. This will enable to detect and deter such violations as discharge of untreated sewage into rivers and lakes of Tatarstan. A number of caseswere recorded in the past year, some of them resulted in criminal proceedings. For the moment, the violations have been eliminated by the following organizations:

- GAUZ (autonomous public health care institution)“Republican Clinical TB Dispensary”

- JSC “Vysokogorsky utilities”

- JSC “Almetyevskwater service company”

- JSC “Aznakaevoheating networks”

- JSC “Muslyumovo engineering networks”

- MKP BMP (Municipal State-owned Enterprise of Bavly municipal district) “Water service company”

- JSC “Troitskneft”

- LLC “Akmal– Trans”

  In the previous year 100% of water objects of regional significancewere surveyed. In order to identify breaches of restricting free access to public water bodies and foreshore,the Ministry of Ecology inspectorsperformed more than 2 million visits. Activities on the elimination of violations identified in the framework of the Year of the water protection zones continue.

Thisyear a special attention will be paid to cleaning the Kuibyshev and Nizhnekamsk reservoirs of sunken and abandoned vessels, which are potential sources of pollution. With the lowering the reservoirs level, they create a threat to small boats. In the last yearwreckswere identified and registered, diver and environmental inspectionwas conducted. Water and sediments were sampled for chemical, hydro-biological, toxicological analyses. The impact of sunken boats on the ecosystem of water bodies and the state of marine biological resources has beenestimated.

All information on wreckshas beenincluded in the Geographic Information System “Environment map of the Republic of Tatarstan” with precise geographical coordinates, description of condition, vesseltype, sizes, environmental risks, information onship raising, results of the diver inspection with photos.
