Young naturalists of Kazan made a trip to reserved world of Tatarstan

For young naturalists at the Children’s ecological& biological center of Kazan was “Nature reserve lesson”. The event was held by the specialists of the Volga-Kama State Nature Biosphere Reserve Maria and Elena Unkovskaya for school kids enrolled in environmental classesof the “City children’s ecological and biological center” based on schoolsof Vakhitovsky, Provoljsky, Sovietsky, and Novo-Savinovskydistricts of Kazan. “It is important and necessary to bring to the childconsciousness, that a person is not just a consumer of nature, but also a defender. This should be taken in by the child’s personality to develop a certain moral position, and this is a complex pedagogical process”, – said the deputy director for educational work of the Volga-Kama Reserve Elena Unkovskaya. During the“Nature reserve lesson” kids were shownvideo presentations and filmstelling about the history of creation and the main objectives of protected areas of Tatarstan. They were told of rare animals and plants, which had been successfully preserved. “The children enthusiastically joined in the nature reserve lesson”, – noticed the teachers of educational institutions Kazan. – Everyone liked the way the material was delivered and the subject matter itself. Employees of the Volga-Kama Reserve told the children about the system of protected areas, the difference between nature and national parks, the history of the reserved system of Russia and Tatarstan, and many more. The material taughtwas immediately checked. For example, kids were asked to guess which symbolor logo,painted on card,corresponds to the particular reserve or national park. The main target of the activity is to broaden kids’ outlook, arouse interest in the outside world, develop attention, thinking, foster respect for nature.
