National Library of Tatarstan to hold“Ecological studies”under the Year of Ecology

The National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan begins a cycle of classes for school and university students titled “Ecological studies”, dedicated to the Year of Ecology. The students of MAOU (Municipal autonomous educational institution)“Gymnasium No.139” of Volga district of Kazanwere the first who participated in this event. Library staff organized an exhibition of periodicals named“Let’s protect our nature”. Among them such popular publications as “Nature and Man”, “Nature", “Ecology and Life”, “Young Naturalist”, “Earth-bit of land”, etc. Studying the materials of the exhibition, students together with the staff of the library searched for answers to many issues facing contemporary society. At the end of the dialogue, students and librarians agreed that in the 21st century we should not live “under the blanket” of harmful conditions, pollution, contaminated water and food. The nature and environment are an important part of our lives, so environmental problems today deserve great and serious attention.

The purpose of the event is to instilinto young generation the ecological culture as an integral part of the education of the 21st centuryperson.
