Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan FaridAbdulganiyevtook part in the inspection on unauthorized snow dumps today. As compared to the previous year, their number decreased by almost a quarter, the Minister noted. And volumes too. Accordingto Abdulganiev, this is the result of intense work in this area and close cooperation with people: “As a rule, unauthorized snow dumps appear on the same sites, and these sites are under our close attention. Day and nightchecks are regularly conducted. Today, our task is to prevent the violation of environmental laws. In the previous year we found 207 unauthorized snowdumps, while only 53for the same period this year. This is almost four times less. Offenders are identified for all the facts. Many are caught by the hand. I would especially like to note the active position of citizens. They don’t overlookthe violations, instead, record andnotify the Republican environmental public reception desk. We respond every notification. “The substances contained in the polluted snow can cause greatharm to nature, – said the head of the Ministry of Ecology of RT.– Trees, soil, water bodiessuffer”.
