Ministry of Natural Resources developed official website of Year of Ecology

To publicizethe activities and events of the Year of Ecology in Russia, the Ministry of Ecology of the Russian Federation has developed the official website of the Year – http://ecoyear.ru. The new theme website should attract public attention to the protection of nature and protected areas of Russia.

The website includes the following sections:

- News: events in the field of ecology in Russia and in the world;

- Materials: news of leading Russian mass media, photos and videos of beautiful places, flora and fauna of Russia, official documents and materials related to the Year of Ecology 2017 in Russia;

- Events: interactive section with geo-navigation to display the events of the Year of Ecology on the map of Russia – clicked, a tag corresponding to a particular event opens the panel with a description of the event;

- About the Year of Ecology: tasks for 2017 (creation of 7 national parks, 2 nature reserves and 2 wildlife sanctuaries, Lake Baikal protection program, restoration of 800 hectares of forest, program to reintroduce rare animalsinto the natural environment, publication of a new volume of the Red Book of Russia “Animals”);

The website of the Year of Ecology in Russia is adapted for use on all mobile platforms and devices.
