Unique campaign “All-Russian nature reserve lesson” started in Russia

Unique campaign “All-Russian nature reserve lesson” started in the Year of specially protected natural areas in Russia.The project was developed by the Environmental Education Center“Nature reserves” under the Program of the Movement of Friends of protected islands, with the support of the Public Relations Committee of Moscow, GPBU “MosPriroda”,AnCO“Your Nature", and withthe information support by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Education of Russia.

“Nature reserve lesson” is a school for environmental awareness for children of different ages. One lesson lasts 45 minutes andcan be held in a form of a self-studying or together with natural subjects (biology, geography, world) and humanitarian subjects(history, social studies, literature). The versatility of the program lies in the fact that the classescan be conducted by specialists who work inprotected areas, teachers, and volunteers.

To help to promote the campaign online,the website zapovednyyurok.rfhas been launched on the Internet. The resource provides for all the protected areas in Russiaan opportunity to join the campaign so that to share their knowledge and experience, and gives the possibility of collecting and distribution of methodologies for the interactive “nature reserve lessons”.
