Latest environmental technologies and equipment at the VIII International Forum “Ecology”
For the eighth time a large-scale international forum “Ecology” will be held in Moscow at the congress-park “Radisson Royal Hotel, Moscow”on 20-21 March. The forum will be held under the project of the party “United Russia”, “St. Petersburg –the sea capital of Russia”. The event program covers a wide range of issues related to legal regulation in the field of environmental protection and waste management, water utilitiesmodernization, implementation of the best available practices, development and implementation of regional programsfor waste management. Also, the participants will discuss issues of charging for negative impacts on the environment, prevention and elimination of oil spills. Such issues as the implementation of the activities in the Year of Ecology, environmental education, and many morewill be raised as a part of the agenda. During the forum a number of special eventswill be held, such as an open discussion on the prospects of “green” development of Russia. Its participants will discuss the concept of sustainable (“green”) development of Russia. The forum will also provide exposition area of 1500 sq.m.to showcase the latest environmental technologies and equipment.
The organizer is ANO (autonomous non-commercial organization)“Public Forum “Ecology”, the Public Council of which is headed by Nikolai Valuev,the first deputy chairman of the Ecology and Environmental Protection Committee of the State Duma of the FA RF. The event will be held with the support and participation of the Federation Council of FA RF, the State Dumaof FA RF, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, and other ministries and departments.
It is expected that the Forum will bring together over 800 representatives from 60 Russian regions and 10 other countries. Among the participants are representatives of the relevant public authorities, science, public organizations, industrial and transport companies, municipal utilitiesorganizations, eco-services, as well as developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of environmental technologies and “green” equipment. The purpose of the event is to develop proposals on amendment of legislation and government policy in the field of environmental protection.
