Sustainability and energy efficiency are in their priority. “Greenest” buildings were awarded in Kazan

The winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian contest for environmental real estate development and energy efficiency Green Awards Conceptwere announced in Kazan. In the category “Residential construction: multi-storey complexes” won a residential complex “Sovremennik” (“YIT Kazan”), built in Novo-Savinovskydistrict. “Sovremennik” is just one of two residential property projects in the Russian Federation, certified by the international standard BREEAM. The “greenest” business centerwas recognized the complex “Suvar Plaza” on the Spartakovskayastreet. Over the last two years here have implemented the energy saving program and received the Silver level certificate under Green Zoom standard. The winner in the category “Multifunctional complexes” is “GorkiPark”, the only shopping center, opened in Kazanthis year. The Special Jury Prize went to “KamaStroyInvest” for its economy-class residential house “Red Apple”. In total, eight projectsparticipated in the contest. Now the winners of the regional stage of the contest will be included in the rating of energy efficient and environmentally friendly projects in Russia.

In Tatarstan, the contest Green Awards Concept was held for the first time. All competitive projects were evaluated in accordance with GREEN ZOOM,the Russian system of the property energy efficiency and sustainability. The main criteria for the evaluation of the building are: location of the built-up area and transport service; environmental sustainability of built-up area; water efficiency; energy efficiency and reducing harmful emissions into air; using of sustainable building materials and waste management; ecology of the internal environment of buildings; application of innovative technologies. The jury consisted of: Assistant of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Natalia Fishman; Senior Director, Head of Regional Projects: Russia and CIS Cushman & Wakefield Elena Stryukova; General Director of JSC “Himgrad”, the authorized representative of NCP“Russian Guild of Managers and Developers” (RGMD) in the Republic of TatarstanAiratGizzatullin; Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development of RGMD, Deputy Director General for Sustainable Development “BUREAU OF TECHNOLOGY”EugeneTeslya; Head of department of environmental education and interaction with civil society organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of TatarstanValiullinDamir; Director of GAU “Center of energy-saving technologiesof the RT in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan”YevgenyMartynov; Head of business development department of KPMG Kazan office AiratKaveev.

The purpose of the contest is to promote the development of energy efficiency and environmental performance in the domestic real estate market. Organizer of the contest isthe non-profit partnership “Russian Guild of Managers and Developers”,RGMDoffice in Kazan with the support of PROEstate Events with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia, Ministry of Regional Development of Russia, and the Ministry of Energyof Russia. Green Awards is held in major cities of Russia and CIS countries since 2010, and for its history more than 250 projectstook part in it.
