Vladimir Putin: “All country muststart cleaning contaminated areas”. Number of activists and public inspectors inTatarstan will be increased.
Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered his annual address to the Federal Assembly. “In the Year of ecology all country must start cleaning contaminated areas, – the President said. – Garbage pits in which outskirts of many settlements have turned must be removed. This is a problemof not only big cities, but also villages and towns”. It is worth noting that in the republic ofTatarstanthe citizens as well as public organizations, volunteers, and students are actively involved into cleaning territory from garbage. Thisyear, only for the period of sanitary and environmental bimonthly more than a million of Tatarstan people took part in litter pickson Saturdays and Wednesdays. Together, we have cleaned up in the short term. One of the largest in Tatarstan public ecological organizations “BUDETCHISTO” (established by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan), which has more than 5,600 activists, has recently summed up the results of its activity and awarded the best members. Activists were congratulated by FaridAbdulganiyev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, and TahirKhadeev, Chairman of the Environmental Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. In his speech to activists the Minister FaridAbdulganiyev noted that a special characteristicin this year was a huge number of events dedicated to the Year of water protection zones. “The next 2017 year was declared in Russia the Year ofecology and specially protected natural areas, and in Tatarstanit will be the Year of ecology and public spaces. So in the next year we are going to grow, to become more united in our common and noble goal ofenvironment protection”.
During the event an exhibition “Ecology and Life” was held which presented hand-made pieces made from recycled materials by students of ecological and biological centers of Tatarstan. Also, master classes of making bird feeders and Christmas decorations were held.
