100% of all water facilities of regional importance were inspected by the Ministry of Ecology
The press conference summarizing the results of the regional state ecological and geological inspection was held today at the information agency "Tatarinform". Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources - Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of nature protection, Fayaz Shakirov, informed that as a result of the efficient use of technical base, carrying out of overflights on the territory of the Republic, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, creation of the Center of public inspectors by the Ministry in 2016, more than 7,000 violations of the nature protection legislation have been revealed; owing to the joint work with the service of bailiffs and the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic, as well as enhancement of the quality of administrative materials, more than 35 million rubles' worth of fines have been collected, which exceeded the indicators of the entire 2015. The work on collection of fines is continued. Within the framework of the Year of water protection areas, inspectors of the Ministry carried out more than 2 thousand on-site visits to the water facilities, so 100% of all the water facilities of regional importance have been inspected. Following the results of the supervisory activity, the Ministry revealed 1,599 violations of the water protection legislation, and the fines were imposed on the offenders in the amount of more than 9 million rubles. Over the entire 2015, a total of 536 violations of the water legislation have been revealed. Task-oriented events are held with regard to the facts of restriction of the access to water facilities. Inspectors of the Ministry revealed 387 facts of restricted access of citizens to the water bodies of regional importance. The administrative fines have been imposed in the amount of 2.8 million rubles. Following the results of administrative investigations, a total of 334 administrative proceedings have been initiated over the facts of restricted access to the water facilities. A total of 325 orders have been given on elimination of the revealed violations. On the basis of the Ministry's cases, 67 claim forms were referred to the courts of the Republic. A total of 276 facilities restricting the free access to the water facility have been demolished. The work on revelation of violations of the requirements of the nature protection legislation in the field of illegal extraction of common mineral resources became another topic touched upon by the Deputy Minister. This year, inspectors of the Ministry revealed 177 violations. The fines have been imposed in the amount of 20.5 million rubles. A total of 24 licenses for the use of mineral resources have been suspended. Moreover, this year, the practice of initiation of criminal cases under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Property theft" was implemented by the law enforcement authorities on the initiative of the Ministry.
