The International Conference "Wild-life Affair. The centenary results" will be held in Sochi

The International Conference "Wild-life Affair. The centenary results" will be held in Sochi on November 29 - December 1st. The Conference organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the Ecological and educational Center "Zapovedniki" and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Caucasian Biosphere Nature Reserve" will start in 2017 the Year of Specially Protected Natural Territories in Russia announced by the Order of the President of the Russian Federation. The role of specially protected natural areas in the preservation and cultural heritage of countries in the Post-Soviet area will be discussed during the event. It is planned to pay great attention to the matters of the state management of nature reserves and national parks, as well as the national parks, their sites and potential in the development of the ecological tourism, as well as the modern state and prospects of the scientific researches and ecological and educational activity at specially protected natural areas. The Conference will help collate the vector of development of Russian specially protected natural areas with the world tendencies, and it will also give the momentum to the international cooperation in this field. Moreover, the meeting of the Expert Council for the Specially Protected Natural Areas under the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia will also be held. Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation in the Field of Nature Protection under the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia Vsevolod Stepanitsky, Deputy Head of the Department of Biological and Landscape Diversification of the Republic of Belarus Nikolay Svidinsky, Director of the Ecological and Educational Center "Zapovedniki" Nataliya Danilina, Director of the WWF of Russia Igor Chestin, as well as the heads and specialists of 78 nature reserves and natural parks of Russia, representatives of the scientific, educational and nature protection organizations from Russia, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Slovakia, USA, Uzbekistan, and Finland will participate in the event.
