The VI Open Interregional Ecological Festival "The tree of life" starts on November 18th

The Festival is carried out within the framework of the movement for children and youth "Your nature" on the premises of the State Geological Museum n.a. Vernadsky under the Russian Academy of Sciences and under the aegis of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the State Nature Protection Budgetary Institution "Mospriroda", as it was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. The first festival "The tree of life" was held in 2012. The main aim of the event is to maintain inquiring and exploratory interest of children and youth in the ecological matters. Over the last 5 years, "The tree of life" has significantly expanded its geographical boudaries and the number of participants - children from Moscow and Moscow Region, Ural, Siberia, the Krasnodar Territory, the Crimea, the Far East, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Vladimir, Yaroslavl regions and other parts of Russia and the near abroad countries can participate today in the studying and protection of the environment within the framework of the Festival. In 2016, new regional branches of the Festival will be opened in the Altai territory and the Republic of Altai, as well as in Sverdlovsk, Vladimir, and Voronezh regions. Chidlren from 6 to 18 years of age, their parents and teachers are invited to participate in the Festival. "The tree of life" is a project of the educational format designed to urge the youth to take care of nature through new knowledge and new for the modern society topics: "green technologies" and "green economics". Moreover, within the framework of "The tree of life", in 2017 it is planned to launch the All-Russian educational project "Young ecological specialists of Russia" that will cover all the stages of the educational process from ecological education in the kindergarten to the higher educational institutions. Winners of the Festival will be awarded with tickets to the International children's center "Artek". TV presenters Oksana Fedorova and Arina Sharapova will perform during the opening ceremony.
