A citizen of Cheremshan will sustain the sentence under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for thievery

The offender has been brought to the legal liability under Article 158, part 1, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the theft of common mineral resources. Inspectors of the South-Eastern Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan revealed illegal extraction of sand at the end of August within the framework of the geological surveillance. Illegal extraction took place in Cheremshan district at a distance of 3 km from Berket-Kluch village using the following equipment: an excavator and KAMAZ trucks. The contractor who was carrying out the work on quarry development had managed to sell 24 KAMAZ truckloads of sand weighing 320 tons. The area of the developed site of mineral resources amounted to 160.6 sq. m., the excavated depth was 4.85 m. Ecological specialists informed the Cheremshan Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation about the fact of thievery. Law-enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Article 158, part 1, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. By the decision of the Magistrate's Court, the citizen was plead guilty over the fact of thievery of the state property (sand). The sentence was passed according to Article 158, part 1, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Thievery, i.e. the action of covert embezzlement of another person's property).
