Ecological specialists are estimating the damage inflicted on nature - "black diggers" were caught in Novopolsky village near the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve

The violation of the nature protection legislation was revealed in Zelenodolsk district, Novopolsky village, near the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve. According to the citizens, special machinery was operated on site, and illegal digging was carried out. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan went to visit the site. This fact was confirmed – violation of Article 7.3 part 1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (The use of mineral resources without a license to use the mineral resources) was registered. "During the meeting with local citizens of Novopolsky rural settlement we wanted to clean the pond from silt and bed deposits to provide the village with water and to ensure fire safety. We didn't know that our actions were illegal", told the Head of Novopolsky rural settlement Nail Yakupov. "An administrative case was initiated, a protocol of the territory inspection was drawn, and the parameters of the damaged land plot were measured. The samples were drawn on the site. We are currently estimating the damage inflicted on nature", told the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology.
