Fresh air, forest, fallen leaves, beautiful weather, crisp chill and, of course, good and positive mood. A nature protection campaign on beautification of the green area devoted to the Day of Russian Nature Reserves was held today on the premises of the Volga Kama Nature Reserve. The event started with a welcoming word of the Leading Specialist of Department for Ecological Education and Interaction with Public Organizations under the Ministry of Ecology, Elena Gilmizyanova. "Having united the efforts, today we went out to clean and landscape the territory of the nature reserve. It is a special protected natural area with differentiated protection modes aimed at preservation and restoration of the facilities of the nature reserve fund and biological diversity. If we, the ecologists, don't protect and save this facility, who will", acknowledged Elena Gilmizyanova. By joining the efforts, ecological specialists, fellow workers of the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve, students of Kazan Innovation University and College n.a. V.G. Timiryasov removed dry branches and planted young seedlings of fir tree, silverberry, and mountain ash."In such a way, we made a slight contribution into ecology, and we beautified the territory of the reserve areas", acknowledged the students. The cleaning campaign finished with a tour to the Museum of Nature and Tree Nursery. According to the fellow workers of the Nature Reserve: the dendrological garden was created in 1921, and it was divided into three sections:European, Asian, and American. Moreover, the students were told about the rarest types of world plants. The collection of the reserve contains more than 50 stuffed animals presented in their natural habitat. During the tour, future ecological specialists could find the answers to all the questions of interest.
The event is designed to disseminate ecological knowledge and upbring the young generation, to foster careful attitude in children to the natural resources and the environment, to form ecology-oriented mindset, and to support the development of the system for continuous ecological education and enlightenment in the Republic of Tatarstan.
