11 October 2016, Tuesday

A citizen of Kazan helped ecological specialists catch the offenders red-handed by informing about illegal sand extraction on a timely basis. A call was received through the hot line of the Ministry. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan immediately went to Nikolskoe village of Laishevo municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. When ecological specialists arrived, the fact of illegal extraction of common mineral resources (construction sand) with neither license not any other authorization documents was confirmed. Special machinery, namely a tractor and a KAMAZ truck were operating on site.  Violation of part 1 Article 7.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation - Use of mineral resources without a license - envisages a fine up to 1 million rubles. The Ministry of Ecology is currently estimating the damage inflicted on the environment by extraction of mineral resources. The materials will be referred to the law enforcement agencies for initiation of a criminal case.

As a reminder, one can report on illegal quarry development at hot line number: (843)267-68-67, via e-mail: eco.signal@tatar.ru, or a report can be sent to the "People's Control" system, while a special mobile application "School eco-patrol" was elaborated for the pupils. Moreover, the citizens who provide operative information on the violations of the nature protection legislation with photo or video registration of such are remunerated.
