The Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia will carry out a seminar for the regional authorities on the procedure of inventory of greenhouse gas emissions

A seminar for the representatives of the regional executive authorities on the use of methodical recommendations on voluntary inventory of the volume of emitted greenhouse gases will be held on November 1, 2016 at the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, as it was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. During the seminar, the developers, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Russia will answer all the questions on the use of instruments envisaged by methodical recommendations during inventory of the volume of greenhouse gases emitted during economic activity on the territory of regions. Methodical recommendations on the voluntary inventory of the volume of emitted greenhouse gases in constituent units of the Russian Federation were elaborated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation in compliance with the schedule of events on assurance by 2020 of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions down to not more than 75% of the emissions specified in 1990 adopted by the Enactment of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 504-p of April 2, 2014. The application of methodical recommendations will allow to determine the volumes of current greenhouse gas emissions in constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as to plan and implement the measures on restriction and reduction of emissions, and to ensure control and evaluation of their efficacy. The results obtained in the course of regional inventories will promote enhancement of awareness of the federal executive authorities and they will serve as the basis for the development of long-term goals for the period up to 2020, and the perspective up to 2030-2050, as well as the development and implementation of the state policy aimed at reduction of greenhouse gas emissions considering specificity and priorities of the development of constituent units of the Russian Federation. The obtained estimation of man-induced emissions of greenhouse gases in constituent units of the Russian Federation will allow to assess the course of achievement of the national goal on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the Russian Federation established by the Order of the President of the Russian Federation No. 752 of September 30, 2013.
