A report was received today by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan from the citizens of Kazan on pollution of the lake on Serova str. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Department, and the experts of the Central Specialized Inspection for Analytical Control under the Ministry of Ecology immediately visited the site. At the end of inspection of the sanitary and ecological state of the given territory it was decided that the sewage water that flows along the local landscape has a characteristic odor of hydrogen sulfide.  Experts of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control drew samples of sewage and natural waters, and they also sampled the air. The tests for nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, carbon oxide, sulfur dioxide, and total hydrocarbons were carried out on site using a mobile ecological laboratory. The MPC (one time concentration) of hydrogen sulfide was exceeded in the air. More detailed test results will be available within 5-10 days.
