A final stage of the "Water of Russia" campaign started

The All-Russian campaign on cleaning of the coastlines of water bodies "Water of Russia" will last until the end of September. The event is held within the framework of the Federal target program "Development of the water economic complex of the Russian Federation in 2012-2020". The coastlines of small rivers and water bodies are cleaned from June 1 to September 30, 2016. It is anticipated that about 500,000 volunteers from all the regions will join the campaign in 2016; about 75 regions have carried out cleaning campaigns by now. It is the third time that the cleaning campaign is held. In 2014 and 2015 it was held under the name "Clean shores to our rivers and lakes". More than 5,000 of water bodies were cleaned by volunteers including such famous rivers as the Volga, the Don, the Ob, the Yenisei, the Amur, and Lake Baikal. The results with regard to the total amount of participants and the amount of collected waste will be summarized in the beginning of October 2016. Education of the population on the need to preserve cleanliness of water bodies is one of the strategic goals of the Federal target program "Water of Russia" along with the liquidation of water deficiency and assurance of protection of the population from floods.             As a reminder, the campaign took place in every municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.The event was carried out by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan to put everything in the state of sanitary order and maintain such order along the coastlines of water bodies, to promote active participation of citizens and careful attitude to nature in all municipal units of Tatarstan,
